Instructor: Prof. Ahmed E. SOUAIAIA
In all my courses, I make all efforts to ensure that each student’s work is fairly and without bias evaluated and assigned grades based on valid academic criteria and based on the student’s individual performances. Fairness to students also implies reasonably consistent grading among courses of the same level, other things being equal. Depending on the course level, the grades distribution—based on the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences historical data—will be roughly as follows:
Course’s Level | A | B | C | D | F | Average |
Elementary | 15 | 34 | 40 | 8 | 3 | 2.50 |
Intermediate | 18 | 36 | 39 | 5 | 2 | 2.63 |
Advanced | 22 | 38 | 37 | 3 | 1 | 2.77 |
The above table is based on aggregate historical data; final grades are not curved/adjusted to meet the above breakdown. Students receive the grade they earn even if all of them earn A’s or F’s.
The table below represents a general guide for letter grades and corresponding numeral and percentile divisions. College of Law uses a different grading scale, therefore, students must consult official syllabus for each course and/or talk to instructor for applicable grade scale.
